Blockage of blood vessels or can be called Atherosclerosis is the number 1 killer disease in the United States, this disease of blood vessel blockage was responsible for a quarter of all deaths that occurred in the United States. This disease occurs in the arteries, a type of blood vessels that deliver oxygen and nutrients to all organs and tissues (including heart muscles). Atherosclerosis is defined as arterial stiffness as a result of plaque which disrupted the blood circulation.
The danger is, atherosclerosis is a ‘silent disease‘ because it occurs inside the body and hardly detected. In normal condition, arteries like rubber pipes which are elastic, strong and flexible. Starting from the trigger area that has not known for sure, but researchers believe that the blockage process begin with the damage of the artery wall that caused by high cholesterol, smoking, hypertension and others.
In a certain period, cholesterol, calcium and various other substances then accumulate in that area to form plaques. This plaque can piled up, causing blockage of blood vessels. The development of atherosclerosis is influenced by several factors such as high cholesterol, alcohol, smoking, obesity and unhealthy lifestyle.
Prevention is the key to fighting this disease, you should lose your weight if you are overweight, quit smoking, exercise regularly and improve your lifestyle such as healthy diet and good and enough sleeping, it is no longer a secret that having less or over sleeping can cause bad effect.
Potential of Dangerous Disease Because of Obesity
A study showed that obesity can trigger the production of leptin and estrogen hormones, which are hormones that encourages the development of abnormal cells that lead to tumors. By losing weight, you will avoid several types of cancer.
According to a study at the University of Minnesota on 22,000 women for 7 years, overweight woman who managed to reduce her weight about 10-15% of her weight can reduce the risk of breast cancer as much of 21%. Obesity also can lead to hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and stroke due to blocked of blood circulation by the fat and LDL fat pulp in some of our vital organs. What will happen if our heart, liver, kidney & pancreas disrupted because of obesity, it felt like we could die.
